#3 Transition Game: The 2010-11 Washington Capitals Story by Ted Starkey
It was a fun season even if it didn’t end in a cut. We got to see the Caps compete in the NHL Winter Classic for the first time and were in the spotlight in front of the HBO documentary cameras before this one. Ted Starkey recounts this crazy season.
Here is an overview:
“Transition Game: The Story of the 2010-11 Washington Capitals” tells the story of a unique season in the National Hockey League, following a club’s quest for the Stanley Cup. From three of the team’s top young prospects who won the Calder Cup in Hershey to being in the spotlight of a reality television series and one of the NHL’s showpiece events in the Winter Classic, “Transition Game” puts you on a ride with one of the most dynamic and electric clubs. “Transition Game” takes a look at the 2010-11 season, featuring 2009-10 Calder Cup champion Hershey Bears, a profile of Alexander Ovechkin’s rise to stardom, the Capitals’ rise to popularity, achievement from the HBO reality series “24/7” and behind the scenes of the 2011 Winter Classic in Pittsburgh, the team’s embrace of new media and the race for the Stanley Cup playoffs.
