ORMOND BEACH, FLORIDA, USA, March 29, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ — First time author Robert Andrew Provan, an avid driver, nature lover and project superintendent in the construction industry of can now add a published author to their continue. After 20 years of sharing a story he created for his daughter to explain where water comes from, it is now published to be shared with children around the world.

The idea for this story came from a conversation between the author and his daughter. She asked where the water came from and the answers her father gave her only prompted more questions. Never one to shy away from a challenge, even from a 3 year old, Robert put pen to paper to craft a story to explain the history of the water cycle that would make sense from a a small child.

“I am thrilled that my 20-year journey to publication has come to an end with the release of this book which has been a favorite family story retold over and over for generations,” said Robert Provan. “As a father, I loved spending time outdoors with my children and answering their questions about nature. It was quality family time and one of my favorite memories to date. Electronics and screen time seemed to take over the outdoors and I hope this book will spark a child’s imagination to get out and experience all the wonders of our surroundings with their family.

Ronnie the Raindrop is the first book in an educational series with a mission to help improve literacy rates for young children in the United States. Today, more young people are in front of screens and fewer children read for pleasure. Indeed, according to a survey conducted in late 2019 and early 2020 by the National Assessment of Educational Progress, the number of 9- to 13-year-olds who read daily for pleasure is at its lowest since the mid-1980s.

The mission of this series of educational books is to inspire children to read from an early age, spending less time in front of screens. Each book provides a lesson in environmental conservation that can coincide with a school’s curriculum in a traditional classroom or home school environment. This series of educational children’s books combines fun while teaching. The next books are due out later this year.

About Robert André Provan
Robert’s fascination with the environment began at a very young age growing up in the beautiful green mountains of Vermont where he was continually drawn to pristine mountain streams, rivers and lakes. This love of water grew to include the ocean when at the age of four he and his family crossed the North Atlantic to England. It was during this trip that Robert proclaimed to his family that he would join the Navy. Robert joined the US Navy and was stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and traveled throughout the Pacific and Indian Oceans and beyond. After his discharge from the Navy, Robert returned to Vermont to begin his career in construction, but he never lost his enduring interest in the sea and environmental causes. Over the years he has raised a family, learned to scuba dive and shared his love of the environment on numerous vacations to the Caribbean, Bahamas and Florida Keys. He lives in Florida where he continues to make the most of nature’s beauty.
