Children’s books come to life at Music Pier

The Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed show will take place on July 19.

The Greater Ocean City Theater Company (OCTC) will once again present a series of family-friendly theater productions this summer.

CTEO has brought together talented actors to bring a wide range of stories to life at the Ocean City Music Pier. Audiences will be transported to a world of imagination, creativity and educational fun.

On July 19 at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., the Music Pier will rock Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed: The Rock Experience. It’s a rock ‘n’ roll parable with a meaningful message for today’s audiences, based on the bestselling children’s book by Mo Willems.

Wilbur and all his fellow naked mole rats in the tunnel have always been, well, naked. Wondering what other possibilities exist, Wilbur discovers a love for clothing and style. When the announcement of his new passion upsets the Tunnel, he proves to everyone that it is not necessary to be like everyone else.

On July 26 at 10:30 a.m., the public will enter the jury box and decide the fate of Big n Bad in a musical adaptation of the bestselling children’s book, The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs.

The children’s theater series will end on August 2nd at 10:30 a.m. with a heroic production by Super Sidekick the Musical.

All tickets are $10 in advance and $12 on show days. Visit the Ocean City Music Pier box office, call 609-399-6111, or log on to for more information or to reserve your spot.

The 2022 Children’s Series program is made possible in part by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Cape May County Board of County Commissioners through the Cape May County Division of Culture & Heritage.
